【编者按】今年是中美建交40周年。岁月无声，光影留痕。7月3日至8月15日，《跨越太平洋的交流与合作——上海纪念中美建交40周年》图片展在上海市档案馆（外滩馆）成功举办。300余幅精心甄选的照片，记录了上海与美国各地方的交流合作进程。我们挑选部分展出的档案照片，为大家讲述照片背后的故事。让我们一起重温过去，立足现在，展望未来。

1988年4月，作为首家落户上海的外资化工企业，上海卡博特化工有限公司正式成立。三十余年来，卡博特在华拥有7家工厂，占全球营收20%。2018年，卡博特被授予在沪深耕30年“基业常青”企业荣誉称号。图为1992年7月在吴泾工业园建成投产的上海卡博特化工有限公司。

Shanghai Cabot Chemical Co.,Ltd., the first foreign chemical company in Shanghai, is founded. 　　1988年4月，作为首家落户上海的外资化工企业，上海卡博特化工有限公司正式成立。该公司由卡博特公司与隶属上海华谊集团股份有限公司的上海华谊能源化工有限公司（原上海焦化有限公司）合资成立。经过三期建设，工厂至今实现年总产能17万吨优质炭黑。三十余年来，卡博特在华拥有7家工厂，占全球营收20%。上海也已成为卡博特亚太区总部（国家级地区总部）、亚太技术研发中心所在地。

　　Shanghai Cabot Chemical Co.,Ltd., the first foreign chemical company in Shanghai, was founded in April, 1988. It was invested by Cabot Corporation and Shanghai Huayi Energy and Chemical Co.,Ltd. (formerly Shanghai Coking Co., Ltd.) under Shanghai Huayi (Group) Company. After three phases of construction, it has now an annual production capacity of 170,000 tons of high-quality carbon blacks. Cabot Corporation has seven factories in China, which produce 20% of its global sales. Shanghai is also home to Cabot Asia-Pacific Headquarters (regional headquarters at national-level) and its Asia-Pacific Technology Research and Development Center.
