【编者按】今年是中美建交40周年。岁月无声，光影留痕。7月3日至8月15日，《跨越太平洋的交流与合作——上海纪念中美建交40周年》图片展在上海市档案馆（外滩馆）成功举办。300余幅精心甄选的照片，记录了上海与美国各地方的交流合作进程。我们挑选部分展出的档案照片，为大家讲述照片背后的故事。让我们一起重温过去，立足现在，展望未来。

　　美国费城交响乐团是美国最受欢迎的交响乐团之一。1973年，应美国总统理查德·尼克松的要求，费城交响乐团在指挥家尤金·奥曼迪的带领下成为第一支在新中国演出的美国交响乐团。自1973年首次来华演出后，费城交响乐团与中国、上海一直保持着特殊而紧密的联系，并于2019年第12次访问了中国、第8次访问了上海。

　　Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra is one of the most popular symphony orchestras in the United States. At the request of U.S. President Richard Nixon, Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra, led by its conductor Eugene Ormandy, became the first U.S. symphony orchestra to perform in New China in 1973. Since then, Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra has been maintaining special and close contacts with China and Shanghai, and it makesits 12thvisit to China and 8thvisit to Shanghai in 2019.
