The redeveloped 45-kilometer-long public space along the Huangpu River was opened to the public on January 1, 2018. In one contiguous section, the 8.3-kilometer-long stretch in the Huangpu district provides an amazing contrast between where you walk, on the older Puxi side, and where you can look across to, on the glimmering Pudong side home to the Lujiazui towers.
