By:Wang Jiaye  |  From:english.eastday.com  |  2015-11-10 14:19

Shanghai International Marathon has just come to a close with some other running events soon to open. Running has long been one of the most popular sports in the city. Here are 5 beautiful and quality running routes recommended by Shanghai Tourism Administration.

Shanghai Pudong International Women's Half-marathon Route

上海浦东国际女子半程马拉松赛道

Category: Half-marathon / 8km race

The first women's marathon in Shanghai will take place at 7 a.m., Nov 21, 2015. Starting from the Oriental Pearl TV Tower in Lujiazui area, the route extends along Binjiang riverside of Pudong, the World Expo site and ends at the Oriental Sports Center. It is also a good choice for walkers thanks to few people and fine views.

Chongming Forest Half-marathon Route

崇明森林半程马拉松赛道

Category: Half-marathon / 8km race / 2.5km parent-child run

Starting point: Beiyan Highway 42km milestone

Regarded as natural oxygen bar, Chongming is a suitable place for marathon with clean air and all kinds of trees like camphor, ginkgo and Metasequoia. It maybe feels like running all the way in the botanical garden.
