Oh, lakes really exist in Shanghai!
By:Fung Pui Chi, Chen Jialin  |  From:english.eastday.com  |  2016-07-06 16:12

Shanghai, July 6th-According to Happy Tour in Shanghai, yesterday Shanghai issued the first yellow alert of this summer. Though the plum rains season hasn’t ended yet, incessant heat waves keep hitting the city and much courage is required of people to step outside the door. In this case, it would be a wise choice to take a walk around the lakes of Shanghai at dusk, and let the cool wind blow away your anxiety and restlessness accumulated during the day.

Dishui Lake (Dripping Lake)
Location: Nanhui Spit, Pudong District

A number of people mistake that this scene, which appears in the first episode of iPartment season 1, was shot in Hainan. In fact, it was filmed in Dishui Lake close to the harbor of Pudong. Away from the bustle and noise of the city, this place is sparsely populated with the sky and sea merging in one color. On the Number 1 wharf, you can choose a speedboat for a swift adventure over the water or a cruise to appreciate the beauty of a harbor city leisurely. Tranquil environment, fresh air and beautiful scenery make this place a wonderful place for kite-flying, fishing, sailing or round-lake tour with a speedboat or a bicycle. You can also ramble around the circular lakeshore, experience the breezes from the lake caress your cheek and enjoy cozy sunshine. This could also be a satisfaction. Along the 8 kilometers around the lake, you can always find a right landscape for yourself.

Yinchu Lake (Silver Hoe Lake)
Location: Changfeng Park, Putuo District

Changfeng Park is an obligatory destination of spring outing for children in Shanghai. The Changfeng Park was originally named Biluo Lake Park. Its design of landscape layout has consulted the Summer Palace in Beijing. As there is the Kunming Lake in the front of the Summer Palace and the Longevity Hill in the back, Changfeng Park accordingly has the Yinchu Lake (Silver Hoe Lake) in the front and the Tiebi Hill (Iron Arm Hill) in the back. The source of the names of its lake and hill is a poem written by Mao Zedong, in which there is a sentence writing “wielding the silver hoe, the Fives Ridges which reaches the sky is hit; waving the iron arm, the earth which bears mountains and waters is shaken. What a momentum! Indeed, Tiebi Hill is piled up with earth dug out from Yinchu Lake and the park was later named as Changfeng (literally lasting winds in Chinese), implying the wishes “to ride lasting winds and dash though miles of waves. The admission to Changfeng Park is free. Seifu trees on the mid-lake island dance with grace and willows by the lake kiss the water. When the sun sets in the west, the whole water is sparkling. You can pretend that you are boating in the gentle waves of River Cam.
