Oh, lakes really exist in Shanghai!

Dianshan Lake
Location: West Qingpu District, adjoins Kunshan (Mountain Kun) in Jiangsu Province

Dianshan Lake, the source of Huangpu River, is the largest natural freshwater lake in Shanghai. It is even bigger than the West Lake. Being here, you can enjoy a pleasant scene where “reeds dance in the wind, fishing boats float on water and lotuses smile in the pond”. The air is fresh and scenery is beautiful and the surface of the water stretches as far as the eye can see. Therefore, it would also be a lovely choice for you to cycle around the Dianshan Lake. Moreover, Dianshan Lake is surrounded by scenic spots of great reputation such as Zhujiajiao Town, The Grand View Garden Area of Shanghai, Oriental Land and Sun Island.

Yuehu (Moon Lake)
Location: Sheshan National Holiday Resort in Songjiang District

Yuehu is an artificial lake, surrounded by the verdant green East Sheshan Hill, Xueshan Mountains and Fenghuangshan Mountains. By the lake, Sheshan, which stands high and alone, can be perceived by us. Coming to Yuehu, you would feel like stepping into a Chinese landscape painting. Yuehu Sculpture Park, in which over sixty sculpture masterpieces is placed circularly in a well-propositioned way, encircles around the Yuehu. The theme of the park is about four seasons in a year. Along the bank of Yuehu, sceneries are various, respectively featuring the seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter. It is typically suitable place for people to take a walk.

Meilan Lake
Location: Luodian Town, Baoshan District

Meilan Lake, praised as “The Most Beautiful Place of Northern Shanghai”, is really vast and charming. It is just as serene and graceful as in Northern Europe. In here, you can find the custom street full of Northern European feeling, incorporating catering, shopping and entertainment, and also the Meilan Lake Theme Park which carries strong recreational flavor. In addition, golf course, wedding photography studios and variegated aquatic events are scattering throughout the lake area. Leaning against the rail, just let the ship sway with the wind, all you can see is a superb collection of green trees and red walls along the bank. What an embodiment of Andersen’s fairy world! Isn’t it?
