Deals worth 57.8 billion US dollars have been reached at the first China International Import Expo (CIIE), which concluded in Shanghai on November 10 with fruitful results.
"From CIIE, FedEx expects to learn more about our customers and the import trade. We want to better understand the products Chinese consumers want and their shipping needs. We also want to better understand importers' logistics and their shipping requirements," said Frederick Smith, chairman and CEO of FedEx Corp.
The weeklong China International Import Expo boosted demand for tourism with Shanghai welcoming more guests from overseas. Meanwhile, more city residents have been making reservation for out-of-town trips, said online tourism agencies.
Japanese exhibitors are shining at the China International Import Expo (CIIE). Statistics show that Japan has sent the largest number of exhibitors to participate, including famous enterprises like Toyota, Mitsubishi, Panasonic and ITOCHU.
The China International Import Expo is not only a fest for entrepreneurs, but a global feast for gastronomes. Inside the Pavilion of Food and Agricultural Products, there is a worldwide range of fine cuisine and beverages.
More than 5,200 volunteers are the lubricant of the first China International Import Expo, which is being held in an exhibition center with floor area the size of 200 football fields. At the security check gates, at traffic junctions inside the complex and in the exhibition halls, volunteers are on hand to give directions, provide service information and work as interpreters.
