The warehouse was used as a fortified basein 1937 when Shanghai and its adjacent areas were turned into a bloody battlefield.It was transformed into Sihang Warehouse Battle Memorialto commemorate the battle of Songhu, the largest battle waged during the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1931-45).
