The Classic Dress For Chinese Women:Qipao

About Manchu Clothing
The organization of political power mainly consisted of the rulers of the Manchu ethnic minority in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), so the customs of Manchu affected those of the Central Plains. The traditional dress code that had been handed down for several thousand years was damaged because of the invasion of the Eight Banners soldiers. It might be said that this innovation was another improvement of China's traditional dress code.
Manchu's Hair Bun
The Manchu’s Hair Bun meant the hair bun like "liang ba tou"(two plaits), "da la chi"and so on. The way of combing the hair bun of liang ba tou was: comb the hair backward, put it into two plaits and droop to the neck, then, fold the two plaits respectively up, adding glue while flatterning, turn up slightly and fold the remaining hair up to join into one plait, repeat so till to the front top of the head......
